GFH launches 2008 Summer Internship Program

Gulf Finance House (GFH) has recently kicked-off its Summer Internship Program. Over 20 young Bahraini men and women met with senior bank executives for their induction.

"One of GFH's main priorities is to enhance the education of our local youth. We are therefore very pleased to welcome another new group of talented interns this summer." said Glenn van Kessel, GFH's Training Manager.

Coming from leading Bahraini and international universities, the young men and women will be working in key departments on select projects across GFH's business divisions.

In addition to this, GFH has created a program of workshops and events to supplement the education of chosen summer interns. This program includes a visit to the Banyan Tree Desert Spa & Resort where participants will deliver presentations on banking themes, and attending seminars on topics such as Sharia'a Compliance, Islamic Finance, Anti-Money Laundering and Macroeconomics , which will provide them with core skills required to understand the Islamic finance industry. They will also attend team building exercises at Bahrain Sailing Club and Bahrain International Circuit.

Mentors for the interns have been selected and will manage the participants during their work term. Career coaching will be offered to all participants to help them select the most appropriate career path.
