GET INTO THE SPREE SPIRIT.
They look like a Jim Jonesy, crazy Christian cult or some sort of slacker choir and in a way Polyphonic Spree share elements of both. They're a mobile, musical community whose numbers over 15 years of touring varied between 13 and 27 - and they've been known to reach celestial heights during spiritually uplifting live performances. That they managed to stick together at all, never mind produce five fine albums and some of the most recognisable songs of recent times, is remarkable. To tour the world over and again is just plain silly - but as long as they keep doing it, we'll keep following. And you should too.
Polyphonic Spree play Limelight 1 on Tuesday (September 1), doors 7pm, tickets PS17.50 plus booking fee from www.ticketmaster.ie Katy's Bar & Ticketmaster outlets nationwide Just don't drink the Kool-Aid...
