GERSTMAN TO RETIRE FROM WALT DISNEY IMAGINEERING

GLENDALE, Calif., March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The retirement of Milt Gerstman, vice president of Construction of Walt Disney Imagineering, has been announced by Imagineering Executive Vice President Mickey Steinberg.
Walt Disney Imagineering is the master-planning, creative development, design, engineering, production and project management subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company, responsible for the creation of Disney theme parks and their expansion.
"Milt Gerstman is a legend in the constructions industry," said Steinberg. "Everyone at Imagineering is privileged to have known and worked with him, and many have benefited from his example, guidance and personal mentoring. Milt leaves a well-designed construction management system in place here. He has forever influenced the way we build Disney attractions."
Gerstman joined Imagineering in January of 1988. As vice president of Construction, he was a key advisor to all Imagineering projects, including Disney-MGM Studios Florida, Typhoon Lagoon and Pleasure Island, all at Walt Disney World; Euro Disneyland; and Mickey's Toontown, which opened at Disneyland this January.
His prior association with Imagineering began in 1978, when he assumed the overall construction management of EPCOT Center as president of Tishman Construction Co., in Florida. Gerstman came to EPCOT from Tishman Realty and Construction Co. Inc., where he was senior vice president, partner and president of Tishman Construction, New Jersey, responsible for building the Trump Castle Hotel and Casino. Gerstman was the executive in charge of such construction projects as the Renaissance Center in Detroit, the World Trade Center in New York, the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City and numerous other major projects.
Preceding those assignments, Gerstman spent 15 years as vice president in charge of construction for Paul Tishman Co. Inc., a New York general contractor.
Gerstman will continue to consult with Walt Disney Imagineering.
