GERBER SIGNS MULTI-YEAR CONTRACT WITH NIELSEN; AGREEMENT CONTINUES, EXPANDS EXISTING CONTRACT

 NORTHBROOK, Ill., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Gerber Products Co. has expanded its relationship with Nielsen North America by signing a multi-year contract with the company.
 Under the agreement, Nielsen will continue to track sales trends and causal data for Gerber Products Co. using its ScanFact and ScanFact PC applications, as well as provide on-site consulting services. In addition, Nielsen will now track sales of Gerber Childrenswear, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Gerber Products Co.
 According to Joaquin Pericas, director of marketing research and advertising services, Gerber Products Co., "Nielsen's customized service package was the determining factor in our decision. The superior information and cost flexibility they have provided us since 1990 has given us the tools we need to market successfully in a rapidly changing environment."
