 GERBER DONATES BABY FOOD FOR HURRICANE RELIEF;
 FIRST SHIPMENT DUE IN LOUISIANA FRIDAY
 BATON ROUGE, Aug. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Gerber is donating 3,324 cases of baby food to Louisiana victims of Hurricane Andrew as a result of a cooperative effort with U.S. Senator Bennett Johnston and the Baton Rouge Food Bank.
 Sen. Johnston, together with local Gerber representatives, will meet the truck when it arrives at the Baton Rouge Food Bank Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. The food bank, located at 766 Chippewa St., and Sen. Johnston's office will oversee distribution of the food to 18 parishes hardest hit by Tuesday's storm.
 Transportation from Gerber's Fort Smith, Arrkansas plant has been donated by Trans-States Lines. The company's relief efforts for the victims of the country's most devastating hurricane are being coordinated by International Aid of Spring Lake, Mich.
 The shipment includes cereal, fruit, fruit juices, soup, vegetables and meat, and will feed an estimated 3,000 babies for more than a week.
 Gerber Products is also sending a shipment of baby food to Dade County, Fla., which took the brunt of the storm's fury. That shipment will arrive Saturday, Aug. 29.
 The Louisiana shipment is targeted for the following parishes: East and West Baton Rouge, Iberville, Pointe Coupee, East and West Feliciana, Livingston, St. James, Ascension, Assumption, Lafourche, Terrebonne, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Mary, Vermillion and St. Martin.
