GERBER APPOINTS TWO ADDITIONAL BOARD MEMBERS SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn., Feb. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- H. Joseph Gerber.
president and chairman of the board of Gerber Scientific, Inc. (NYSE: GRB), today announced the appointment of two additional directors to the company's board of directors, A. Robert Towbin and David J. Gerber.
A. Robert Towbin, 56, is currently a managing director, Co-Head High Technology Investment Banking for Lehman Brothers, an investment banking firm of New York. Prior to 1987, Towbin had been associated with L.F. Rothschild, Unterberg, Towbin Holdings, Inc. for 28 years, most recently as director and vice chairman. Towbin is also a director of AVX Corporation, a division of Kyocera (Japan); K&F Industries, Inc; Loral Aerospace Systems; Marymount School of New York (trustee); New York State Council on the Arts; St. David's School, New York; and the Temporary Commission on the New York City Finance 1975. Towbin is a 20-year member of the Securities Industry Association and a former member of its New York District executive committee (1972-74) and founding chairman of the SIA's Committee for Minority Capital (1972-74). Towbin is a 1957 graduate of Dartmouth College. David Gerber, 30, received a B.A. degree in political science from Columbia University in 1984 and a B.S. degree in engineering from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, Troy, N.Y. in 1985. While at RPI, he was awarded the 1985 McKinney Writing Prize in the essay division and literary division. David Gerber also earned a J.D. degree in 1988 from the University of Virginia School of Law, Charlottesville, Va., where he was the recipient of the 1988 Justice Roger and Madeline Traynor Prize for legal writing, and was awarded the third annual SCRIBES Law Review Competition Award. Prior to joining Gerber Scientific, Inc. in 1989, as an attorney in its legal department, Gerber, son of H.
