GEORGIA DNR SEEKING DEVELOPER FOR TOWNS COUNTY RESORT PARK
ATLANTA, April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking a private developer to build, finance and operate a state park at a state-owned site in Towns County, Ga.
Invitations to apply to pre-qualify to submit a proposal for the development are being extended to interested companies. The pre- qualification application package includes an executive summary of a project market analysis prepared by Landauer Associates, as well as the required application form. All submittals must be received by DNR by May 11 to be considered.
Tours of the proposed state park site in Towns County are being scheduled for interested developers on Thursday and Friday, April 30 and May 1. Advance reservations are required and can be made by calling DNR.
It is DNR's intent to use the pre-qualification submissions to identify a short list of qualified developers. Based on an analysis by DNR with assistance from the Georgia Hospitality and Travel Association, along with the results of a marketing study recently completed by Landauer Associates, the state is seeking a private developer to build, finance and operate a quality resort-like park in the north Georgia mountains which could include a hotel, conference facilities and a championship golf course.
To obtain a pre-qualification application package, make site tour reservations, or get more information, call Bill Donohue, DNR's State Park Lodge Operations manager, at 404-656-6546.
