GEORGE REAVES TO RETIRE; JOHN HINTONTO HEAD C&A TRAFFIC & TRANSPORTATION

 CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- George T. Reaves, vice president of traffic and transportation for Collins & Aikman, will retire on Feb. 28. He has been associated with the company's transportation operations since 1955. John C. Hinton will assume the responsibilities as director of traffic and transportation. He joined the company as fleet manager in 1977.
 Reaves will remain on the board of directors of the North Carolina Trucking Association. He is a member of the board of the N.C. Business Travel Association, and past president and chairman of the N.C. Traffic League.
 Hinton is a certified ICC practitioner. He also serves on the board of the N.C. Business Travel Association. Hinton assumes Reaves' unexpired term on the board of the National Private Truck Council. Both men are past presidents of the Charlotte Transportation Club.
 They both hold BS degrees from the University of Tennessee's Business School with majors in transportation.
 Mrs. Reaves is the former Frances Hampton of Elkin, N.C. They reside on Lake Tillery near Albemarle, N.C.
 Hinton resides in Albemarle.
