GEORGE FACING A NAPPY NEW YEAR; DARTS.

RICHIE GEORGE will be changing nappies rather than throwing darts after being dumped out of the BDO world championships.

The 24-year-old, son of BBC TV pundit Bobby, became a father in July to Edward Richard George.

But the sleepless nights will continue for the 2013 semi-finalist as he was smashed 3-0 by Robbie Green in the first round.

George (right) said: "I wet the baby's head about six months ago - but after that defeat, I might go and wet my own head! I am very annoyed by how I played. But I will be back next year."

In the second round, Green will face Gary Robson, the No.13 seed, who beat Dutchman Ron Meulenkamp 3-2. The 2012 world champion Christian Kist won a preliminary contest 3-2 against Japan's Hiroaki Shimizu.

Title holder Scott Waites was thrashed 3-0 on Saturday by Alan Norris.
