GEOFFREY HOLMES NAMED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, TECHNOLOGY OF TIME WARNER

 NEW YORK, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Geoffrey W. Holmes has been named senior vice president, technology of Time Warner Inc. (NYSE: TWX), it was announced today by Time Warner Chairman and CEO Gerald M. Levin to whom Holmes reports.
 In his new post, Holmes will be the company's senior executive for new technology business development. In that capacity, he will be responsible for interactive multimedia throughout Time Warner and also serve as chairman of Warner New Media. Atari Games, a 78 percent owned subsidiary, also reports to Holmes.
 In making the announcement, Levin said: "Technological advancement is creating opportunity for growth at an ever increasing rate. Time Warner is uniquely positioned to capture these opportunities and build additional distribution channels for our world leading media and entertainment businesses. Geoff has been a key player on our corporate team since the creation of Time Warner. His indepth knowledge of all the businesses of Time Warner and the emerging technologies particularly qualifies him to direct and coordinate our efforts."
 Holmes, 46, joined Warner Communications in 1980 as director, investor relations. He was appointed vice president, Warner Communications Inc. in 1981 and senior vice president in 1987. He has served as senior vice president of Time Warner Inc. since the company's formation in 1990. From 1973 to 1980 he was an investment analyst for Reliance Insurance Companies. Prior to joining Reliance, Mr. Holmes was in the investment department of the Delaware Trust Company.
 Holmes is the chairman of the Laser Disc Association, a cooperative cross industry group dedicated to establishing the Laser Disc Format in the united States. He is also vice chairman of the DCC group established to promote the introduction of the digital compact cassette in the United States.
