GENUS NAMES NEW VICE PRESIDENT MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Genus Inc.
(NASDAQ: GGNS) announced today that Kevin C. Conlon has joined Genus as vice president of marketing. He assumes the marketing duties that were the responsibility of Steven L. Jensen who was vice president, sales and marketing until two weeks ago when he resigned to accept a similar position at Silicon Valley Group.
Conlon was employed for the past two years at Novellus where he was most recently director of manufacturing and previously director of product marketing. He also served for 10 years at Applied Materials where he was product marketing manager, North American Operations of Implant Division and held senior management positions within the Etch Products and Epitaxial Products Division. "Kevin comes to Genus with much experience in our markets and first-hand knowledge of the needs of our customer base. We believe that he will play a significant role in establishing new programs to increase our worldwide market," said William W.R. Elder, Genus chairman and CEO. "Genus has great potential to be successful in the worldwide equipment market in the next few years. I am looking forward to helping to implement strategies to realize that potential," said Conlon. Conlon received his BS in General Engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point and his MBA from Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, Calif. "Steve Jensen did an excellent job for us at Genus and we certainly wish him well in his new endeavors. I have assumed Steve's sales duties during the interim search for a replacement," concluded Elder. Genus is a leader in the manufacture of chemical vapor deposition systems for tungsten-based films and high energy ion implantation systems.
