 GENERATION 5 ANNOUNCES DAVID BARANIAK
TO HEAD NEW GEO/SQL IMPLEMENTATION BUSINESS UNIT
DENVER, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Frank Richardson, chairman of the board of Generation 5 Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: GFIVd) a leader in the development of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), announced that the board of directors has authorized the formation of a new company to provide Geo/SQL implementation, integration and consulting services. David Baraniak will assume the dual role of vice chairman of Generation 5 and president of this new company, established as a subsidiary of Generation 5 Technology. To focus on this challenge, Baraniak has resigned as CEO of Generation 5 Technology effective Feb. 1, 1992. The mission of this newly-formed company is to grow the base of successful Geo/SQL clients by providing specialized implementation and consulting services. According to Baraniak, "The goal of each and every GEO/SQL consultant is to make their clients' implementation successful. Our plan allows this organization to work in concert with the existing Geo/SQL consulting community. Acting as a consultant to the consultant, together we can offer an unequaled level of Geo/SQL expertise to any situation." Additional services will include the integration of third party applications with Generation 5 flagship Geo/SQL product to address strategic vertical markets. The new business unit will be headquartered in Brookfield, Wis.
Mark Wilding, president of Generation 5 stated, "Not only will this move generate a new, significant stream of revenue for the company, but will also provide a solid foundation of Geo/SQL expertise available to the entire Geo/SQL community." The Generation 5 board of directors has formed an Executive Search Committee to find Baraniak's replacement as CEO of Generation 5 Technology.
