GENERAL MOTORS FILES SHELF REGISTRATION NEW YORK, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- General Motors (NYSE: GM) filed a
shelf registration on Nov. 15, 1991, which covers the potential issuance of up to $750 million of preference stock. The preference stock would have no maturity date but would be callable by General Motors on terms to be determined when the shares are marketed. The stock would carry a fixed or floating rate dividend and would not be convertible into common stock.
A registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with the SEC but has not yet become effective. These securities may not be sold nor may offers to buy be accepted prior to the time the registration statement becomes effective.
