 GENERAL MILLS ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT CHANGES
 MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- General Mills (NYSE: GIS) today


announced management changes in the Company's consumer foods operations.
 David D. Murphy, 39, recently elected a senior vice president of General Mills, has been named president of the Big G cereal division, succeeding Stephen W. Sanger. Big G is General Mills' largest business with approximately $2 billion in sales. Murphy, who joined General Mills in 1976, has been president of Betty Crocker Products. A General Mills vice president since 1986, Murphy has also served as general manager of the Marketing Services Division and the former Minnetonka (snack) Division.
 Sanger, 45, elected executive vice president of General Mills in October 1991, will continue corporate management responsibility for Big G as well as International Foods and Yoplait yogurt.
 Jeffrey J. Rotsch, 41, succeeds Murphy as president of Betty Crocker Products with approximately $1.3 billion in sales. He previously was vice president, general manager, Main and Side Dishes and Beverages in Betty Crocker Products. Since joining General Mills in 1974, Rotsch has had increasing management responsibility that has included virtually all of Betty Crocker's current product lines. He was elected a General Mills vice president in 1987.
