GENERAL DYNAMICS ANNOUNCES ADDITION OF THREE LAUNCHES
SAN DIEGO, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- General Dynamics (NYSE: GD)

Commerical Launch Services Inc. (CLS) has added three launches from international customers to its growing commercial manifest.
The INTELSAT board of governors recently authorized go-ahead for an Atlas IIAS to launch an INTELSAT VII satellite. Also, the Inmarsat Council selected the Atlas II for launch of two Inmarsat-3 satellites -- the first scheduled for launch in 1994.
Selection of Atlas by INTELSAT increases CLS orders to three Atlas IIAS launch vehicles for INTELSAT VII in addition to an Atlas IIA for INTELSAT K, which is scheduled for launch in late May of this year. The three INTELSAT VII communication satellites will launch in the 1995-1996 time frame. Atlas has previously provided 24 launches of INTELSAT satellites.
Like the other Atlas vehicles on order for INTELSAT, the latest Atlas IIAS incorporates a number of performance enhancements recently announced by CLS. Also, the Inmarsat launch vehicles will incorporate some of the announced enhancements.
INTELSAT is an international commercial cooperative of 121 members that owns and operates a 17-satellite global system providing international and domestic communications. The 64-nation Inmarsat organization is headquartered in London and provides maritime and mobile communications to its customers.
The newest orders increase total Atlas backlog to 36 -- 26 commercial launches and 10 others for the U.S. Air Force as part of its Medium Launch Vehicle II program.
