GENERAL AUTOMATION INC. ANNOUNCES GA-ADVANTIX 2.0 PICK-ON-UNIX DATABASE ENGINE

 Open Systems Gateway Product Will Allow Existing Pick Applications
 to Run Unmodified on a Wide Variety of Unix System Platforms
 ANAHEIM, Calif., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- General Automation Inc. (AMEX: GA) today announced GA-Advantix(TM) 2.0, a fully featured, attractively priced database engine that will allow Pick(R) users to run their current Pick applications unmodified on a variety of Unix open system platforms.
 GA-Advantix 2.0 integrates advanced Pick-on-Unix database technology with GA's industry-standard R91(TM) Enhanced Pick Application Environment. Staged releases for a variety of popular Unix platforms are planned with the first release scheduled to ship in the first half of 1994.
 Announcing this new product, GA's President and Chief Executive Officer, Len Mackenzie, stated, "GA-Advantix 2.0 provides Pick VARs the best opportunity to protect current investment in their applications and to easily move users into the Unix open systems world without needing to make any application changes. GA-Advantix 2.0 will be fully compatible with applications for all versions of Pick, including GA's own R91, offering all existing Pick users the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of Unix without risk."
