 GENCORP POLYMER PRODUCTS HOLDS NEW PLANT GRAND OPENING
 HOWARD, Wis., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- GenCorp Polymer Products held


grand opening ceremonies today at its new $30 million state-of-the-art latex plant in Howard, Wis., near Green Bay.
 Participating in the grand opening ceremonies were James S. Marlen, president, GenCorp Polymer Products; Marvin W. Zima, president, GenCorp Polymer Products Latex Unit; Duane J. Clark, plant manager - Green Bay plant; Albert T. Taube, project manager - Green Bay plant; Robert N. Trunzo, secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Development; Roger Sachs, president of the Village of Howard Trustees; Marlene Mielke, regional representative to Senator Herbert Kohl; Dianne Herner, regional representative to Senator Robert W. Kasten, Jr.; and Ann C. Boltz, staff assistant to Congressman Toby Roth.
 Today's ceremonies were held at the company's 165,000 square-foot facility at 1701 Cornell Rd. in the Howard Industrial Park. The plant is scheduled to begin operation the first quarter of 1993 and will employ approximately 60 people in the production of latex coatings for the paper industry.
 In remarks at the ceremonies, Marlen said, "The opening of our Green Bay plant represents a significant milestone in the history of our Latex business. The new plant will be exclusively devoted to the manufacture of high-quality latex coatings for the paper industry, and it will give us additional capacity to better serve the needs of our paper industry customers in the upper midwest."
 Marlen added that the Green Bay plant is equipped with state-of-the- art technology and processes that make it the most advanced, most computerized latex facility in the world.
 The Latex Unit of GenCorp Polymer Products is a leading manufacturer of high-quality coatings for the paper industry. Headquartered in Mogadore, Ohio, the Latex Unit markets and manufactures coatings for publication-grade and light-weight packaging papers.
 GenCorp Polymer Products is the chemical and plastics business of GenCorp serving consumers and industry. In addition to latex, its other operating units produce wallcoverings, fabricated plastics, and Penn racquet sports products.
