GEN. NORMAN SCHWARZKOPF ELECTED DIRECTOR OF BORG-WARNER SECURITY

 CHICAGO, Aug. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Borg-Warner Security Corp. (NYSE:BOR) today announced that Gen. H. Norman Schwarzkopf, U.S. Army, Retired, has been elected to a newly created vacancy on its board of directors.
 "We are delighted that Gen. Schwarzkopf has joined our board," said Donald C. Trauscht, Borg-Warner Security's chairman and chief executive officer. "We anticipate that he will make a significant contribution to the company as we chart strategy for our security operations."
 During his years of military service, Gen. Schwarzkopf held numerous and varied command and staff assignments, including serving as commander in chief, United States Central Command, and commander of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He has received numerous awards and decorations for distinguished service, and wrote a best-selling autobiography, "It Doesn't Take a Hero," after retiring from the military in August 1991. Gen. Schwarzkopf is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., the Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, Pa., and the University of Southern California, where he received a master's degree in guided missile engineering.
 Chicago-based Borg-Warner Security Corp. is the largest, broadest- based supplier of security services in the United States. The company provides guard, alarm, armored transportation and courier services under the Wells Fargo, Burns and Pony Express names.
