GE Power Systems Supplying Gas Turbines for Power Plant in Saudi Arabia.

ESSEN, Germany, May 15 /PRNewswire/ --

GE Power Systems will supply three gas turbines and additional equipment to the Aramco Overseas Company for a 126-megawatt power plant at Saudi Aramco's facility in Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia.

The three Frame 6B gas turbines for this project will be manufactured at GE Power Systems' Essen, Germany facility and will be fired by natural gas. The three units will be shipped in February, March and April of 2001, with commercial operation scheduled to begin approximately ten months after each shipment. GE also is supplying generators, auxiliary equipment and heat recovery steam generators.

The new power plant will be added to an existing steam turbine generator at the site and will supply both heat and power for the Saudi Aramco facility. The Aramco Overseas Company is based in Leiden, the Netherlands and is an affiliate of Saudi Aramco of Dhahran, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
