GE AMERICOM SUCCESSFULLY TRANSFERS SATCOM IV CUSTOMERS TO SATCOM IVR
PRINCETON, N.J., Dec. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- GE American Communications, Inc. (GE Americom) today successfully transferred all customers on Satcom IV to Satcom IVR.
The transfer was completed smoothly, the company said.
Satcom IVR was relocated to Satcom IV's orbital position at 82 degrees W.L., so no repointing of antennas was necessary.
The transition was coordinated with GE Americom's customers, their uplinkers and cable headends under a communications plan that began weeks ago.
GE Americom, located in Princeton, operations the Satcom fleet -- five C-band and two Ku-band satellites -- that services cable television, broadcast radio and television as well as business information and government markets.
