GDX Japan to introduce GDX Drop Box file transfer service.

TELECOMWORLDWIRE-19 December 2008-GDX Japan to introduce GDX Drop Box file transfer service(C)1994-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

Internet Initiative Japan Inc (IIJ) (Nasdaq:IIJI) (TSE1:3774), an Internet-access and network solutions provider in Japan, and GDX Japan Inc, IIJ's 51% owned subsidiary, have announced the January 2009 release of GDX Drop Box, a file transfer service that is part of the GDX Trusted Platform, a messaging network for enterprises that provides guaranteed delivery and security.

The company said that GDX Drop Box is a new service that enables the transfer of large files using a mail-client plug-in called the GDX Plug-in. The files and the transfer route are encrypted on the GDX Trusted Platform, which enables secure delivery of the file to its recipient.

The solution offers the following features: ease of use, as customers only need to install the GDX Plug-in on the mail client that is already in use; no storage limit, as long as a file does not exceed the maximum file size per transfer limit set by the user; automatic generation of recipient lists; stronger security for file transfers; as well as searchable transmission log.

GDX Plug-in is compatible with Outlook 2003/2007, Outlook Express and Windows Mail. The company also plans to add other e-mail clients in the future. The solution is available in Japanese and German.

No pricing details were disclosed.
