GCC program finances numerous projects in Gaza Strip.
| GAZA, May 23 (KUNA) -- Numerous projects funded by the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Program for the reconstruction of several provinces in the Gaza Strip were announced here on Thursday.The initiative also included provision of financial support to the different municipalities of this region.
The GCC program also included the rehabilitation and maintenance of streets and several major roads in the Gaza Strip as well as supporting Gaza municipalities with about USD 35 million.
The sector is suffering difficult economic conditions and is being funded by the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah.
Head of the General Administration for the coordination and facilitation of aid in the Palestinian Economic Council for Development and Reconstruction (PECDAR) Eng. Wael Salah said these projects included the maintenance of several roads and streets. (end) mzt.tg KUNA 231515 May 13NNNN
