GCC Information Ministers begin meeting.

Manama: Oct. 1st -- (BNA)-- Ministers of Information of GCC-member countries a short while ago began their 21st meeting hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain and chaired by Minister of State for Information Affairs cum Government Official Spokesperson, Her Excellency Ms. Samira Ibrahim bin Rajab.

The ministerial meeting discusses several topics to boost GCC media cooperation and reinforce cohesion, security and stability. A paper presented by the GC General Secretariat constitutes an overall frame translatable into implementable programmes and projects and clarifies the rights and obligations of every citizen in any one of the member countries.

The meeting discusses the outcomes of a study intended for activation of GCC media cooperation in compliance with the resolution passed by the 13th Session of the GCC Supreme Summit in May 2011. The Ministers review recommendations from media committees and take appropriate resolutions. (IY)
