Communications integrator Affiniti, created from Kingston Communications Business Services, Omnetica and Technica, announced on Monday (21 November) that it has been awarded a two-part contract with Thames Valley Police (TVP).
According to the company, the contract is for the novation of TVP's existing communications infrastructure and the management of its voice and data systems for a five year term at a total value of GBP10m.
The novation of TVP's existing BT circuits to Affiniti was completed in the first stage of the project and provides TVP with rental savings and Affiniti with the ability to monitor, fault fix and change capabilities for both the circuits and the equipment in the network.
Under the terms of the contract Affiniti is to manage the entire communications infrastructure for the contract term of five years. Affiniti will also look to increase the efficiency and reduce costs of the voice network through its life cycle management services, the company said.
In addition Affiniti will also provide TVP with a 1-hour response Service Level Agreement (SLA) to the Force's 14 core sites and offer a combination of onsite and offsite engineers to provide 24-hour support.
