GBC TECHNOLOGIES, INC. ANNOUNCES DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENTS WITH THREE MANUFACTURERS

 BERLIN, N.J., April 30 /PRNewswire/ -- GBC Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: GBCT) today announced the signing of distribution agreements with three manufacturers considered key to its strategy of focus on the client/server market.
 The three new agreements were signed with Data General Inc., 3-Com Corporation, and Sun Connect, a division of Sun Microsystems, Inc.
 "Each of the three manufacturers fill an important technology slot in our product offering for the Enterprise Network Environment," stated Norman M. Some, president and chief executive officer of GBC. He further described the positioning of each manufacturer in the GBC line as follows:
 "Data General's Aviion Application Servers are rated among the industry's highest performing UNIX based servers. The open systems environment Aviion is available in several models ranging from $5,000 to $300,000. To complement the Aviion Server is Data General's Clariion line, fault tolerant, high capacity storage system offers up to 40 gigabytes of on-line storage per unit.
 "Sun Connect offers a wide range of connectivity product for the SPARC workstation as well as a wide area network ATM product which operates at speeds up to 600 Mbps and can support multi-media bandwidth requirements. Sun Connect also offers a comprehensive open systems Network Manager. Sun Connect joins Sun Select as the second Sun Microsystems Company signing with GBC Technologies.
 "3-Com rounds out our offering of high-end, inter-networking and terminal server product. In addition to a full line of network interface adaptors and wide area networking devices such as routers and bridges, 3-Com offers a multi-protocol, multi-media chassis based concentrator with built-in management facilities."
 GBC Technologies, Inc. is a wholesale distributor of technically advanced microcomputer products, specializing in networking, connectivity, data communications and related products. The company recently raised approximately $12.3 million from its initial public offering of 1,265,000 shares of common stock.
