GB Assembly passes Police Welfare Act 2018.

GILGIT -- The Gilgit Baltistan Assembly has passed Gilgit Baltistan Police Welfare Act 2018 here on Tuesday to help low grade employees and their children on social-economic fronts.

The bill was presented by member legislative assembly, Nawaz Khan that was passed by the house.

Speaker Fida Nashad, who was in the chair, had earlier forwarded the bill to the Select Committee under chairmanship of Law Minister Aurangzaib for further consideration.

The bill was presented today in the 25th session of the assembly that was passed by the house.

As per salient features of Police Welfare Act 2018, one percent of basic pay of the salary of policemen will be put into the police welfare funds for overall welfare of their children's.

The beneficiaries of the fund would be from Grade 1 to Grade 17 whereas Grade 18 and above officers of police shall not be entitled for this facility.

Initially, more than 2 millions rupees will be collected for this fund.
