GAYLORD ANNOUNCES ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES

 DEERFIELD, Ill., June 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Gaylord Container Corporation (AMEX: GCR) announced today that Michael J. Keough, vice president of Bag Operations, has been named vice president and general manager of Container Operations. Mr. Keough, who joined Gaylord in 1985, was regional manager in the Container Division prior to being named to head Bag Operations in 1992.
 Robert E. Kramer, vice president of Gaylord, has been elected to the newly created position of president of Western Sheets, Gaylord's sheet feeder operation. For the prior three years, Mr. Kramer has been vice president and general manager of Container Operations.
 Donald C. Devine has been elected vice president and general manager of Bag Operations. In this capacity, Mr. Devine will manage Gaylord's Mid-America Packaging Division (multiwall bags) and Gaylord Bag (grocery bags and sacks). Prior to joining Gaylord, Mr. Devine spent four years with James River Corporation in various capacities, most recently as general manager of the Webb Offset System of the Folding Carton Division.
 Gaylord Container Corporation is a major national manufacturer and distributor of corrugated containers, containerboard, unbleached kraft paper, multiwall bags and grocery bags and sacks.
