 GATEWAY 2000 NAMED FASTEST-GROWING PRIVATE COMPANY IN AMERICA
 N. SIOUX CITY, S.D., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Gateway 2000, Inc., a leading direct marketer and manufacturer or IBM PC-compatible computers, has been named the fastest-growing private company in America by Inc. magazine (December 1991 issue).
 Gateway 2000's sales grew 26,469 percent from 1986 to 1990 earning it the top spot (up one slot from last year) in "The 1991 Inc. 500: America's fastest-growing private companies." The Inc. 500 are determined by the percentage of growth in sales for the past five years.

 Gateway 2000 currently sells more computers in the United States through the direct market channel than any other PC manufacturer. Sales reached $1 million for the first time in 1986. This figure rose to $1.5 million in 1987, $12 million in 1988, $70.6 million in 1989, and $275 million in 1990. At its current run-rate, the company expects its 1991 revenue to exceed $600 million.
