GAS PRICE 2.4 CENTS HIGHER SINCE LAST CHRISTMAS, AAA SAYS

 ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Holiday motorists will find the price of self-serve regular unleaded gasoline up an average 2.4 cents per gallon from a year ago, the American Automobile Association reports.
 AAA's Christmas Fuel Gauge Report shows the self-serve regular unleaded price is up .4 cent since last week to $1.132 per gallon. This is the first price increase in seven weeks.
 On Christmas Eve one year ago, AAA reported a nationwide self-serve unleaded average of $1.108 per gallon.
 The Fuel Gauge Report -- based on a nationwide spot check of gasoline stations -- is conducted for AAA by Computer Petroleum Corp. of St. Paul, Minn.
 The average price for both self-serve mid-grade and premium unleaded rose .4 cent this week to $1.232 and $1.318 per gallon, respectively.
 The average price for self-serve regular unleaded was up or unchanged in all regions except the Great Lakes, Midwest and Southwest.
 In addition to surveying for the AAA Fuel Gauge Report, Computer Petroleum Corp. publishes the National Petroleum Price Index, which monitors more than 90,000 daily wholesale and retail gasoline prices throughout the United States and Canada.
 AAA is a not-for-profit federation of 145 motor clubs with more than 1,000 offices providing its more than 33.7 million members in the U.S. and Canada with travel, insurance, financial and auto-related services.
