GARY L. VOLLMAR NAMED PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OF WALBRO AUTOMOTIVE CORPORATION

 CASS CITY, Mich., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Gary L. Vollmar has been named president and chief operating officer of Walbro Automotive Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Walbro Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: WALB). The appointment was announced by L.E. Althaver, chairman, president and chief executive officer, Walbro Corporation.
 In this position, Vollmar will have primary responsibility for all operating decisions affecting Walbro Automotive Corporation.
 Prior to this appointment, Vollmar served as vice president-finance and treasurer of Walbro Corporation. He will continue as chief financial officer of Walbro Corporation on an interim basis.
 Vollmar joined Walbro as corporate controller in 1978. He was promoted to treasurer in 1985, and was appointed vice president in 1989. Previously, he had been with the accounting firm of Weinlander, Fitzhugh, Bertuleit, Schairer CPAs, PC, Bay City, Mich.
 Vollmar graduated from Central Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in business administration in 1975. He became a certified public accountant in 1977.
 Vollmar will be based in Walbro Automotive Corporation's Auburn Hills, Mich., facility.

Walbro Corporation is headquartered in Cass City and has subsidiaries and joint ventures throughout the world, including the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Singapore, Korea and France.
