 GARDEN STATE GAMES HIGHLIGHT SPECIAL TO AIR STATEWIDE ON CABLE
 TRENTON, N.J., July 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Olympic hopefuls and other amateur athletes will compete for the gold during the 1992 Garden State Games in front on a statewide audience. For the second year, the Cable Television Network on New Jersey (CTN) will air a two-hour special featuring highlights of the Garden State Games Championship Weekend, July 9th through July 12th.
 "The Garden State Games Highlight Special" will air on CTN Wednesday, July 15th from 7-9 p.m. Check your local listings for the CTN channel in your area.
 Last year's coverage of the Garden State Games, marked the first time that a state's cable companies joined together to cover one sporting event. This year, the program will be expanded to include the production expertise and support of 13 New Jersey Cable companies to bring this important sporting event to a statewide audience.
 The Olympic style multi-sport festival offers competition for all age groups and abilities. Athletes featured in the special include championship cyclist Lillian Cinchi of Rutherford, N.J., in the 60 and over age group who has been competing in the Garden State Games for the past nine years and Kristl Alt, champion rhythmic gymnast of Princeton, N.J.
 Sports that will be featured in the action packed special include rhythmic gymnastics, field hockey, swimming, archery, lacrosse, basketball, diving, weightlifting, fencing, bowling, cycling, soccer, figure skating, karate and roller skating.
 To date, the 13 cable companies that will work together with the Cable Television Network of New Jersey (CTN) to produce this event are:

 C-Tec Cable of Princeton (channel 28)
 Cablevision of New Jersey (channel 34)
 Comcast Cable of Trenton (channel 39)
 Jersey City Cable
 Sammons Cable of Dover
 Storer Cable -- Central (channel 43)
 Storer Cable of Plainfield (channel 36)
 Suburban Cablevision (channel 48)
 TKR Cable of Elizabeth (channel 25)
 TKR Cable of Hamilton (channel 48)
 TKR Tri-Systems of Piscataway (channel 41)
 Vision Cable of Bergen (channel 10)
 The program will be hosted by Steve Mayer, formerly of Mizlou Productions, and Ray Funkhowser, executive director of the Garden State Games.
