GANG MURDER SUSPECT FLED IN THIS SUIT..

Byline: STEPHEN WHITE

But he's probably ditched it by now!

A MURDER suspect who escaped from a prison van was wearing a gaudy yellow and blue suit like this one.

Detectives hunting "extremely dangerous" John Anslow, 31, have released pictures of the two-piece garment in the hope it rings a bell with the public.

Anslow is still at large three weeks after a gang in balaclavas used sledgehammers to free him from the van.

He is unlikely to still be wearing the distinctive outfit but detective Wayne Jones said: "We need to talk to people who may have seen him - or the discarded suit itself."

Anslow was being taken from Hewell prison, near Redditch, Worcs, to Stafford crown court when the ambush took place. The men fled in a silver Volkswagen Scirocco and switched to a grey Mercedes C63 AMG nearby soon afterwards.

Staffordshire Police has received more than 100 calls from the public since the January 23 escape.

Officers also want to hear from anyone who saw the Mercedes or any unusual activity near the prison.

Det Supt Jones added: "We are determined to catch Anslow and a team of detectives is following several lines of inquiry."

Anslow is charged with murdering skip hire boss Richard Deakin, 49, in Chasetown, Staffs, in July 2010.
