GAMEPRO PUBLISHING BECOMES INFOTAINMENT WORLD

 SAN MATEO, Calif., Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- In a strategic move that will solidify their position as the leader in electronic entertainment publishing, GamePro Publishing Inc. has announced a new corporate name, Infotainment World Inc., to replace the current GamePro Publishing Inc. The name change gives the publishing company the opportunity to develop diverse product lines devoted to the entertainment, edutainment and infotainment markets.
 Falling under the new corporate umbrella will be GamePro magazine, S.W.A.T.Pro magazine, GamePro Custom Publishing, GamePro Television, and soon to be announced ancillary product divisions. The name change comes at a time when the publisher has experienced record growth. In the past two years Infotainment World has introduced S.W.A.T.Pro magazine, a television show, a custom publishing division, and book and home video titles.
 "Our core product is GamePro magazine, however Infotainment World reflects the diverse direction that our market and readers are heading towards," says John Rousseau, publisher. "We will continue to be the leader in providing information for the entertainment segment with GamePro magazine and it's ancillary products. At the same time we expect to carve a significant niche in providing information for the educational and informational segments of the market."
 Since its inception, GamePro magazine has been the leader in covering the entire video game market. The publication gives the readers information for all cartridge-based video game systems and the games developed for them. Begun in 1988 by current President and Founder Patrick Ferrell, Infotainment World has grown from a four-person single-product company into a 30+-person multi-product corporation owned by the publishing giant International Data Group.
 "Our new name enables us to continue to lead the industry with new and diverse ways to attract the youth market and gives us the opportunity to target the adult market as well," added Ferrell. "It was clear that all of the ancillary products we were and are developing could not fit easily under the GamePro name. Infotainment World illustrates not only our ties to International Data Group, but the direction our industry is heading."
 Infotainment World Inc. publishes both GamePro and S.W.A.T.Pro magazines, monthly and bi-monthly publications serving the video game cartridge market. GamePro is distributed nationwide through subscription and newsstand sales as well as retail outlets such as Toys R Us and Blockbuster Video. Infotainment World also produces GamePro Television and home video titles, custom publishes Sega Visions magazines for Sega of America and publishes strategy guides.
