GAMEPRO: GAMEPRO TV DEBUTS ON USA NETWORK

SAN MATEO, Calif., Dec. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Beginning Jan. 2, "GamePro," the popular cable television show, will make its debut on the USA Network with a monthly video game special the first Saturday of every month at 7:30 a.m.
"GamePro" currently airs weekly on the new Sci-Fi Channel every Saturday at 8:30 a.m. and every Sunday at 7:30 a.m. It is produced by GamePro magazine, the country's most popular and fastest growing video entertainment magazine.
The show is a video version of the popular magazine, giving viewers tips, tactics and passwords for their favorite video games. Host J.D. Roth takes the audience on a wild ride through the most popular titles on the market. Each episode is packed with reviews, previews and inside information helping the viewer make an informed buying decision.
"The show has proven to be real crowd pleaser since we've designed it to be as interactive as the product it covers," said John Rousseau, publisher. "Since we began producing the show we have seen a significant increase in our subscription and newsstand sales. We're expecting that momentum to continue with the additional exposure from the USA Network."
Both the magazine and the TV show reach the coveted video game market, primarily males between the ages of 10-19 years old. GamePro will offer several 30-second spot positions during each half-hour program to selected youth product advertisers as special multi-media sponsorship packages.
USA Network is a joint venture between MCA and Paramount Communications, and is a 24-hour all-entertainment network serving 58 million subscribers. Its subsidiary, the Sci-Fi Channel, features the best of science fiction, science fact, fantasy and horror and has an initial estimated audience of 10 million viewers.
GamePro Publishing Inc. publishes both GamePro and S.W.A.T.PRO magazines, monthly and bi-monthly publications serving the video game cartridge market. Both magazines are designed to showcase leading-edge video game products and feature hard-hitting editorial and dynamic graphics. GamePro is distributed nationwide through subscription and newsstand sales as well as retail outlets such as Toys R Us and Blockbuster Video.
