GALERIA VANIDADES TO EXHIBIT PAINTINGS BY LIDIA GODOI JAN. 12

VIRGINIA GARDENS, Fla., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Galeria Vanidades, 6355 NW 36th Street, Virginia Gardens, announces the opening of an exhibition of paintings by the Cuban artist, Lidia Godoi, on Wednesday, Jan. 12, at 6 p.m.
Godoi studied in Paris and Mexico City and exhibits in Paris, Japan, Puerto Rico, South America and the United States.
Her life in the tropics with the ocean and vibrant sunshine has been a major influence on her work. Her seductive water qualities and coloristic sensibility, combined with a unique domain over texture, beautifully evokes the passion and power of the sea. Her theme has always been the life found at the bottom of the sea. Godoi's recent work introduces silhouettes to this underwater world. These figures -- wistful and illusive -- create a dreamy and erotic new dimension as they dance and beckon from beneath the sea.
The exhibition of this talented artist will be open to the public until Feb. 2. Galeria Vanidades is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
