GALAXY VS. HOUSTON.

Byline: -- Larry Morgan

Today: 7:30 p.m., Home Depot Center, Carson.

TV/Radio: FSN West; 830-AM, 1700-AM.

Dynamo (6-3-3) update: Houston, which relocated from San Jose during the off-season, has won three of its past four games and is in second place in the West, three points behind FC Dallas. Coach Dominic Kinnear is a former assistant to new Galaxy coach Frank Yallop; they worked together in San Jose before Yallop left to become coach of the Canadian national team. Dwayne DeRosario has four goals and four assists and midfielder Brad Davis has five assists. Davis, however, is questionable with a strained left quadricep. Midfielders Adrian Serioux (fractured toe) and Aaron Lanes (fractured fifth metatarsal) are out.

Galaxy (2-10-2) update: Los Angeles has the league's worst record and, to make matters worse, also has the dubious distinction of not only having the league's worst offense (just eight goals) but the poorest defense (league-high 23 goals allowed). The Galaxy also has not won since a 3-2 victory at Real Salt Lake on April 29. The club is 0-8-1 since that time, with the lone bright spot a 1-1 draw against D.C. United on June 11 at Home Depot Center. Midfielders Cobi Jones (sprained right foot) and Pete Vagenas (strained right quadricep) are probable.
