GAA: Goal-den Browne; Waterford IT 4-15 UCC 3-12.

FITZGIBBON cup specialist UCC had a dream of a fourth consecutive title shattered by a powerful Waterford IT combination in the final at Temple Moor yesterday.

All star footballer Declan Browne was the Waterford destroyer. He bagged two goals in six minutes nearing the interval to send his side on their way to their third win in the championship.

Waterford were the masters from the very start. Browne followed with his brace in the 21st and 27th minutes to put them 3-9 to 0-8 ahead at the interval.

UCC's fading hopes were dealt a further blow when Niall Ronan shook off two tackles to score Waterford's fourth goal two minutes after resuming.
