GAA: GEOFF IS TOAST OF DUNGIVEN; Dungiven 3-13 Keady 1-10 Hitman McGonigle blows Keady away.

GEOFFREY McGonigle stole the show as Dungiven Kevin Lynch's made it through to their first Ulster Club Hurling Championship final.

The dual star hit a goal and 10 points to cap a sparkling performance, but the Derry champions reached next Sunday's decider at a cost, for Cathal McKeever and Hugh Mullan will play no part in the clash with champions Dunloy, after receiving straight red cards.

Gerard Enright got the Armagh champions off to a lively start with a brace of well taken points, but it was quickly evident that this was to be the Geoffrey show.

The Dungiven full forward slotted over points from all angles, seven in all in the opening half, and six of those from play.

Barry McCormack blasted over a huge effort form the halfway line to keep Keady in touch, but each time the Orchard champions closed the gap, Geoffrey popped up with another gem.

But Dungiven lived dangerously, and were reduced to 14 men when Cathal McKeever was sent off for catching John Breen with a flailing hurl, but they led by 0-9 to 0-6 at the break.

But they forced ahead on the restart, with Ronan McCloskey and McGonigle stunning Keady with goals inside the opening 10 minutes.

Sub Hugh Mullan added a third three minutes from the end, before the Armagh side's best forward, Enright, pulled a goal back.

There was little Keady could do against a tight-marking Kevin Lynch's defence in which Pauric Murphy and Niall Mullan were excellent and county star Emmett McKeever was in control at centre half.

Late scores from Enright merely added respectability to the scoreline.
