WESTFIELD, Mass., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Stanhome Inc. (NYSE: STH) today announced that its Board of Directors has named G. William Seawright, a highly experienced global consumer products executive, as President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Seawright has been an outside director of Stanhome since March, 1990. His knowledge of the Company and his extensive marketing and management expertise provide Stanhome with the senior corporate leadership needed to capitalize on the Company's global marketing and brand strengths. Bill (H.L.) Tower, continues as an outside director and the Company's Chairman of the Board. Last August, he assumed, on an interim basis, the additional positions of President and Chief Executive Officer while the Board conducted a thorough search for a new President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Seawright brings to Stanhome over twenty-five years of experience in key marketing, sales and general management positions at Heublein Inc. and The Paddington Corp., both subsidiary companies of Grand Metropolitan PLC. Following a five-year assignment in Europe as Regional Vice President for Heublein International, in 1986 Mr. Seawright was named President of the International division. While President of Heublein International, the international division achieved record-breaking sales and profit growth. In 1990, Mr. Seawright was promoted to President and Chief Executive Officer of The Paddington Corp., the U.S. importer of u?ch leading brands as J&B and Baileys.
