G-10 urges Yemeni sides to quickly appoint Premier.
SANAA, Oct 5 (KUNA) -- Ambassadors of the Group of Ten (G-10) countries sponsoring the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) initiative urged Yemeni sides Sunday to quickly appoint a Prime Minister for the country, who meets the criteria set out in the Peace and National Partnership Agreement (PNPA).
"Appointing a Prime Minister for Yemen is a must in order to complete the next steps in the PNPA, including removal of checkpoints and non-governmental camps that belong to the Houthies in Sanaa and its surroundings," G-10 ambassadors said in a press statement.
They have also reiterated their welcome of Yemeni sides' signing of the PNPA on September 21, stressing importance of implementing this agreement in full and as soon as possible.
Ambassadors of G-10 believe that the PNPA is fully compatible with the GCC initiative and its executive measure, indicating at the same time that the Agreement is considered as a very important document along with outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference and resolutions of the UN Security Council, as they offer a roadmap and guidelines for peace in Yemen, added the statement.
