G&K Opens Newest State of the Art Class One Garment Processing Facility in Dallas

MINNEAPOLIS, June 5 /PRNewswire/ -- G&K Services (Nasdaq: GKSRA) Cleanroom Division announced the opening of its newest Class One Garment Processing Cleanroom in Dallas. The cleanroom has already been certified Class One at .l microns, the highest current rating for a particulate-free environment. The state-of-the-art facility is the first of its kind in the Dallas area, and the fifth Class One facility G&K has opened in the past two years.

G&K Services, headquartered in Minneapolis, is a leading provider in the industrial and cleanroom uniform leasing industry. The primary function of G&K's Cleanroom Division is the sales, leasing and processing of special reusable and disposable garments worn in ultra-clean environments such as the pharmaceutical, biomedical, semiconductor and electronics industries.

The Class One rating meets the highest existing standard (Federal Standard 209E) for a particulate-free environment. All of G&K's cleanrooms feature Copy Exact design, AccuTrak tracking systems, and MicroTrak particle counters ensuring their customers world class processing at all of their facilities. In addition to the new Dallas facility, G&K operates Class One facilities in San Jose, Albuquerque, Phoenix, and Portland, and a Class Ten in Denver.

In May of 1996, G&K formed a worldwide strategic alliance with VWR Scientific Products Corporation, "Critical Environment Solutions" (CES), to better serve the needs of cleanrooms, laboratories and other controlled environments. Both G&K and VWR are operating out of the Dallas center.
