Funny side of murder; Comedy.

RADIO presenter and comedian Alfie Joey takes to the stage in the region tomorrow. The Empire Theatre in Consett is set to host an evening of murder mystery tomorrow with his one-man musical show, Monopolise.

Alfie, presenter of BBC Radio Newcastle''s Breakfast Show and Derrick in all seven series of Johnny Vegas''s comedy show Ideal, wrote Monopolise last year and has since enjoyed successful performances in Edinburgh, Newcastle, South Shields and Liverpool.

This is his first one-man show since Alfie Joey''s Mini Cabaret in 2003. Think Fred Astaire style numbers in a Sam Spade picture with a dash of Rat Pack seasoning plus a cavalcade of comic characters and you have Monopolise. Even though it''s a one-man show, you''ll still never guess 'who dunnit''!

SHOWTIME Alfie Joey This musical promises thrills and silly spills and is suitable for all the family. Tickets cost pounds 10 full and pounds 8 concs and are available by calling the box office on 01207 218171 or book online at GORDON BARR
