Funkwerk adds SIP VoIP-VPN to elmeg ICT systems.
Funkwerk Enterprise Communications, a manufacturer of professional network access and ITC solutions, has added a SIP VoIP-VoVPN gateway to its elmeg ICT systems to combine high-compression SIP VoIP telephony with secure VPN data exchange and branch networking.
According to the company, the new VoIP-VPN gateway provides a full-featured VoIP platform for small and medium-sized enterprises, enabling mobile employees with a home office to connect directly to their LAN via the Internet using a secure VPN connection, while a Stateful Inspection Firewall blocks all unauthorised external access.
The elmeg VoIP-VPN gateway reportedly supports all popular network protocols and the SIP standard to provide speech communication through any SIP carrier. The most cost-effective supplier is automatically selected by integration into the LCR (Least Cost Routing) Professional. The VoIP module also supports encrypted speech communication over IP and the elmeg IP-S290 and elmeg IP-S400 VoIP telephones can be connected directly to the VoIP-VPN gateway, the company claims.
The VoIP-VPN gatewaycosts GBP369, but it needs a GBP124 DSP module and ICT costing GBP475 to operate.
