Funds groups can build on.

GRANTS are being made available for community groups to help fund building improvements.

Cardiff council is offering up to pounds 5,000 though its Community Building Grants scheme.

The money can be used to upgrade safety, build new kitchen or toilet facilities and improve access, among other uses.

Judith Woodman, the council's executive member for communities, said: "The Community Grant scheme is a great way for local groups to improve not only their building but the services they offer their community."

The deadline for applying for a Community Building Grant is June 10.
