Fun under lights.

Too hot to play golf in the day this time of the year, then head to the Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club (SGSC) which has a fantastic nine-hole fully floodlit golf course for a game after the temperature cools down.

"The facility houses a championship 9-hole fully floodlit golf course, a fully floodlit golf academy that includes a driving range, short game area and putting green," said Ziad Al Sharabi, Sales and Marketing Manager of SGSC.

In addition to that the club also includes the biggest Paintball Park in the Middle East that has both indoor and outdoor floodlit fields, a state of the art gym, a 10-lane German technology shooting range with a wide selection of pistols and rifles, indoor and outdoor archery ranges, an adults and a kids swimming pool, men's hair salon, three restaurants, tennis and basketball courts as well as four fully floodlit outdoor football fields fitted with grade A FIFA approved Astroturf.

"The club is also house to the Signature Cleopatra's Boutique Spa, an urban spa that delivers sophisticated services to meet the expectations of a diverse audience. It satisfies the ladies wants and needs and also the increasing demands of the male lifestyle and fitness enthusiasts," Ziad added.

The club, situated on the Emirates Road, opened its doors in November 2005 under the auspices of Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Ruler of Sharjah.

"All our facilities are managed by true experts in their profession, whether it be the personal trainers in the gym, our tennis coach, hair stylists, shooting instructors, PGA qualified golf professionals, paintball marshals or our hugely experience team of chef's," Ziad added.

SGSC also offers innumerable offers throughout the year. "At all the recreational facilities at SGSC, there are membership options. During the year there are always seasonal offers and special deals.

"We have personal training and coaching courses at the gym, tennis academy, golf academy and swimming academy as well as shooting and archery courses," Ziad briefed.

"The rack rates at some facilities vary between the winter and the summer, such as golf and football. We run two summer camps for children aged 5 - 14 every year in spring and summer that are aimed at teaching the kids various sports such as football, archery, shooting, swimming and paintball, while also giving them aerobics classes to improve their physical strength and ability," he added.

"The SGSC is unique as an entity as it provides a wide range of facilities all under one roof. Our prices are very reasonable compared to other facilities and has a very family oriented atmosphere as it has something for every member of the family. Ample parking space is available free of charge and extra services are available such as car washing and express laundry service."

SGSC has chalked out several plans for the future. "At the moment there are two projects in place that are due to be functional before the end of the year. The new football academy will be starting in September this year with the aim for it to be the biggest academy in Sharjah offering the most professional football training. We are aiming for it to be a football school and our aim is to teach and educate the kids for them to excel.

"The second project is the new ladies-only gym that is being built and should be set for completion in October this year."
