Fun and Dames!

COVENTRY became a sea of colour as Lady Godiva led hundreds of people through the city for an annual procession.

The eye-catching parade was part of the Dame Goodyver's Daye celebrations, which brings to life the heritage of Coventry's legendary naked horse rider.

Coventry's present-day Lady Godiva, Pru Porretta, welcomed 18 Godiva Sisters from all across the world - including places such as Japan, Poland and Serbia - to the iconic statue bearing the same name in Broadgate. As the clock struck 11am on Friday, they made their way to University Square while enjoying a variety of songs, dances and activities, before arriving in the shadow of the Coventry Cathedral.

The ladies were joined by schoolchildren from across Coventry and they all joined in a chorus of a special Godiva song - Lady on the Horse - before a special dance was led by Pru Porretta and the Godiva Sisters.
