Full-Bridge, remote-viewing software. (Computer Hardware & Software).

A new version of its Eurotherm's Bridge 5000 remote-viewing software package, Full Bridge is said to enable remote workstations to access and control any of the company's 5000 Series data recorders over unlimited distances. Says Eurotherm, this latest release represents a significant timesaver in today's networked environment allowing process managers to monitor operations at remote locations without having to leave their desks.

Full Bridge provides a powerful, user-friendly interface via direct connection, Ethernet link, local area network, or the Internet, with a number of new features and greater functionality, says Eurotherm. Enabling full remote operation, historical data review, and even remote configuration of instruments, it is even said to give remote users the same "look and feel" as the instrument itself.

Information is provided in a variety of formats, such as vertical trend, horizontal trend, vertical bar graph, horizontal bar graph, or large numeric; custom displays are fully supported as well. The software uses Java-compatible technology, so that it is capable of running a TCP/IP connection protocol on multiple platforms, including PCs, Macs, Unix workstations, or industrial panels.

The new release comes with options including Batch Operation, which allows the remote user to perform all batch control and logging operations; User Screens, allowing remote creation, display, and modification of custom screens; and File Explorer, allowing remote viewing and manipulation of instrument files.
