Full fat milk kiddies slim; RESEARCH.

CHILDREN who drink full fat milk are less likely to become overweight than those who drink the skimmed version.

Researchers studied 114 eight-year-olds and measured their body mass index, an indicator of how fat they are.

Youngsters who drank the most full fat milk had a lower BMI, the Swedish study found.

They say kids who enjoy a full fat pinta are less likely to have sugary drinks or snacks.

Dietician Susanne Eriksson said: "Children who consumed full fat milk regularly had a lower BMI compared to those who seldom drank milk."
