Prisoners will join celebrities like Chris Evans when they star in their own podcast this Easter. Podcasts are radio programmes that can be downloaded automatically via the internet and listened to through i-Pods and other MP3 players. Listeners can already download podcasts of shows including Terry Wogan's and Chris Evans' Radio 2 shows. And now prisoners at Cardiff Prison, pictured above, will feature in their own podcast of the BBC Radio Wales programme, All Things Considered - the first Radio Wales programme to be podcast. In it, inmates and the prison chaplaincy explain the impact of Easter on the prison. Cardiff Prison Chaplain Reverend Mark John, said: 'This is an opportunity for prisoners who have conformed to the prison regime, and are working to amend their lives, to be heard. 'It's about communicating with people outside the prison. 'Prisons are often criticised for things people think we do wrong. 'Through the podcast more people will hear about the genuine attempts made by people of faith to change and improve their lives.' The prisoners' podcast will form part of this Sunday's All Things Considered programme, which will be broadcast on Radio Wales at 8.30am. One prisoner serving the third year of a sentence for drug-dealing will also be featured in the programme explaining how Easter, and reflecting on Jesus' life, gives him strength. He said: 'When you're standing in the dock and you are being put to trial, you've got to pay for your sins and you've got to pay your dues. Jesus did that for us. 'The whole story of Easter lifts me. 'There's a lot we can take from it.' Reverend John also explains how prisoners exchange palm crosses on Palm Sunday and how he washes the feet of a group of prisoners on Maundy Thursday.
