From The Ground Up

C.J. Cropper is busy in Jacksonville, where he's begun Phase II of the shopping center adjacent to Wal-Mart.

"They're already out there scraping around on the ground," he says.

When completed, the shopping center will total 55,000 SF. Cropper, who still has 4,000 SF available in Phase I, has preleased to two tenants in Phase II - a Rent-A-Center and a dentist.

Another Cropper project: As you may know, a new 6,500 SF Goodyear Tire Center is slated to go into the old Stubby's location on Cantrell Road.

Cropper says the restaurant will be torn down and construction will begin in about 30 days. He's currently negotiating with two other "general retail" tenants for the additional 3,000 or so SF but won't say who. Estimated completion: six months.
